An algebraic expression consisting of only one term is known as Monomial. It is an Algebraic expression which contains a single term, especially one of the form axn, where a is a number and n is an integer greater than or equal to 0.
Below are some examples of monomials:-
1) 19xy
Here, Coefficiant is 19, Variables are x and y and exponent is 1
2) -4ab²
Here, Coefficient is -4, variables are a and b and exponent is 2
3) -q²
Here, Coefficient is -1 because -q² is as equal as -1q², the variable is a and exponent is 2.
Examples of Monomials:
Listed below are some solved examples of Monomials:
1) 14+14x+19x
Solution
=14x+19x=33x
= 33x+14
Answer
33x+14
2) -20c+20c
