Square Root

A Square Root of a number x is a number r such that r2 = x, or, in other words, a number r whose square (the result of multiplying the number by itself) is x.
Square root is the number where the value of a number which is multiplied by itself to get the original number

The Symbol to denote Square root is
--> √.
For example the Square root of 144 is
-->√144
12 squared is 144 that is 12 * 12 = 144

So the Square root of 144 √144 is 12.

Let us solve some more examples on Square roots to get the better understanding of the concept.

Problem 1)

What is the result of square root of 20 divided by square root of 40?

Solution:

Square root of 20 is
-->√20
Square root of 40 is
-->√40
So the Division is, √20/√40 =
-->√10/20
Simplify the square root values

=
-->√1/2
--> = √0.5
-->= 0.707
Hence, the result of square root of 20 divided by square root of 40 is 0.707
